AFTER TWO MONTHS OF CLASSES

1. What is your insight about English 11 subject in terms of subject content, lesson sequence, degree of difficulty/ease?

For about two months of studying this course, the teaching of speaking, my remarkable insight in terms of subject content is that the course is aiding the speaking skills of the learner. It caters the effective training of improving self-confidence also. It emphasizes the importance of speaking skills in our field as would be teacher. The proper intonation, pronunciation, and stressing of words. The flow of the lesson is deliberate in fact every session we are trained how to handle speech classes and that makes the subject interesting. Direct purposeful experience is given emphasis because we are given the opportunity to perform in actual. With speaks to degree of difficulty or ease I can say that this course is not difficult nor easy it is more in the half way because you need to exert effort in gaining the effectiveness as a would be teacher.

2. What can you say about your learning environment in terms of classroom appearance and functionality, location, noise level, light/ventilation?

Since the definition of this course is the teaching of speaking the learning environment that is used is the speech laboratory. This laboratory is one of the unique and high-tech equipment that is found in this learning institution. The stunning laboratory is located in the second floor of new building and besides the library. All tools that are found in the place are all functioning. The place is peaceful and away from noise because the neighboring areas are quit also. In terms of light and ventilation, the room has five fluorescent lamps that’s why the area is very bright. My favorite of all is the temperature of the place because the area is air-conditioning that maintains the coolness of the room.

3. What can you say about your classmate in terms of attitude towards others, subject, group work?

My gorgeous and good-looking classmates are incredibly accommodating and good to me and to others maybe because we’re been together for almost two years, so we knew each other better. Habitually, we give each other a occasion for knowing each other better. Before the class start some of us are looking for other who is not around and we can’t deny the fact that we help each other specially in accomplishing our blog. In the subject I can see that we are all serious when it comes to the area under discussion because this is not easy as A, B, C. Maybe in other courses they presume when it comes to the subject matter but in our group of educator were not. Some will forecast that we take it for granted but the reality, we are serious when it comes to the subject. We join hand in accomplishing a group works. All of us are the leaders of the group and everyone has the task to do. When one is undergoing difficult we are helping each other is working out.

4. What can you say about your teacher in terms of teaching style, lesson delivery, and rapport/attitude towards each students, communication skills, personality and manner of dressing, classroom management?

I am swollen with pride to say that our stunning teacher in this course is a kind of person who will indemnify the learning of the students. She has the unique way of teaching because she uses variety of strategies that are currently used by effective teachers. She is a type of teacher that is approachable, accommodating and observes relationship to her students and co-teachers. You can really improve your communication skills because she has the knowledge with speak about communication skills. She serves as the model in speaking English language and she also encourage us her student to do so. Her way of communication is effective because a listener can comprehend directly. Our teacher serves as the model in the proper way of dressing and carrying yourself. She dress in accordance to the occasion and we her students imitate her ways. She is the teacher who believes that classroom management is important in field because no matter how intelligent you are if you don’t have classroom management it is useless. In her class classroom management is priority in fact she implemented rules for the learners to follow attentively.

5. What can you say about yourself in terms of attitude towards content of subject, level of understanding of the lessons, level of improvement in skills?

As one of the lucky learner in this course I have the excellent rapport to my classmates and teacher. In terms of subject matter I can evaluate myself in the level of excellent because I did my best and participate in every activity that we had in this course. The level of my understanding develop in connection to the lesson develop because we are given the chance to talk with the aid of technology. We are given the opportunity to perform on stage and given the challenge to let somebody see our critical thinking skill. I am happy because I can see the improvement in me in terms of communication skill, pronunciation, self-confidence and etc. In general, the course help me so much and give me the privilege to show what I’ve got and learn what I did not learn from my previous experiences.

6. What are your recommendation/s?

There is nothing I can suggest because the subject alone is indeed very effective. I can only suggest that more rare and effective activities to be perform especially on stage and on cam.

Compose Rap

Chorus :

yeah!
I cannot teach you how to pray in words
God listen not to your words
Save when He Himself
Utter them through your lips

I

All of us have problems to be solved
All of us have doubts to be clarified
All of us have burdens to be unloaded
But I tell you this prayer is the answer
Break it down.............

II

Prayer gives us the opportunity
To share all aspects of one’s life with God
It gives us the chance to express gratitude
For the things in life that he provided
God has called us us us ……….

Essay on Kahlil Gibran's Self knowledge

“Your hearts know in silence the secrets of the days and the nights.
But your ears thirst for the sound of your heart's knowledge.”

Do I need to go after my heart's belief or rebuff it? This inquiry stimulates me to pay attention in my heart proposal. When I was immature I keep on asking my grandmother on what case that we can use our heart to come to a decision in a certain thing. But now that I grown-up in terms on how I perceive life, I already comprehend what my grandmother is trying to recommend. She suggests that we need to use our heart in   measuring particular things because she added our heart can’t recline instead it always coincide to what we want. Our hearts contain the intellect to detect our hidden thoughts; we can’t hide from our feelings. This organ knows how we sense and what we suffer. We ourselves know what our hearts want. Even how powerful and intelligent a person is but when it comes to feelings and emotions they became dull. It’s a matter of meditating in how far you can decide using your brain and heart. These organs play a vital role in molding us to be a better and competent person in this world with full of competition. Our heart’s knowledge is indeed very important since this is the center in our being and if a person’s heart is not functioning it means the person is dead.

My Painting about Self-knowledge

I draw as I interpret the poem of Kahlil Gibran's Self-Knowledge. The bulb represent knowledge, the small person at the top symbolizes significant others and of course the human signify as self the real you, the big hands stand for the upholding of your self identity and awareness, the plant inside the bulb correspond to the development of our awareness as we grow mature in terms on how we perceive life, the heart with chain embody the domination of our feelings together with our comprehension. The overall illustration characterize the expansion of our attentiveness as we take the maturity level of person and with the help of your significant others we can widen your indulgent on how to worn this build in knowledge. The reason why I portray my though is to confirm that it is not the school, teacher, the high-tech materials and whatever learning resources but the most essential is the learner because it matters to his or her comprehension.

My second choice of Kahlil Gibran poetic essay

On Prayer
 Kahlil Gibran

You pray in your distress and in your need; would that you might pray also in the fullness of your joy and in your days of abundance.

For what is prayer but the expansion of yourself into the living ether?
And if it is for your comfort to pour your darkness into space, it is also for your delight to pour forth the dawning of your heart.
And if you cannot but weep when your soul summons you to prayer, she should spur you again and yet again, though weeping, until you shall come laughing.
When you pray you rise to meet in the air those who are praying at that very hour, and whom save in prayer you may not meet.
Therefore let your visit to that temple invisible be for naught but ecstasy and sweet communion.
For if you should enter the temple for no other purpose than asking you shall not receive:
And if you should enter into it to humble yourself you shall not be lifted:
Or even if you should enter into it to beg for the good of others you shall not be heard.
It is enough that you enter the temple invisible.

I cannot teach you how to pray in words. God listens not to your words save when He Himself utters them through your lips.
And I cannot teach you the prayer of the seas and the forests and the mountains.
But you who are born of the mountains and the forests and the seas can find their prayer in your heart,
And if you but listen in the stillness of the night you shall hear them saying in silence,
"Our God, who art our winged self, it is thy will in us that willeth.

It is thy desire in us that desireth.
It is thy urge in us that would turn our nights, which are thine, into days which are thine also.
We cannot ask thee for aught, for thou knowest our needs before they are born in us:
Thou art our need; and in giving us more of thyself thou givest us all."

Self-Knowledge

Self-Knowledge (from The Prophet)
Kahlil Gibran, Kahlil Gibran poetry, Christian, Christian poetry, poetry, [TRADITION SUB2] poetry, Secular or Eclectic poetry by Kahlil Gibran
(1883 - 1931)

Original Language
English

And a man said, Speak to us of Self-Knowledge.
And he answered saying:
Your hearts know in silence the secrets of the days and the nights.
But your ears thirst for the sound of your heart's knowledge.
You would know in words that which you have always known in thought.
You would touch with your fingers the naked body of your dreams.

And it is well you should.
The hidden well-spring of your soul must needs rise and run murmuring to the sea;
And the treasure of your infinite depths would be revealed to your eyes.
But let there be no scales to weigh your unknown treasure;
And seek not the depths of your knowledge with staff or sounding line.
For self is a sea boundless and measureless.

Say not, "I have found the truth," but rather, "I have found a truth."
Say not, "I have found the path of the soul." Say rather, "I have met the soul walking upon my path."
For the soul walks upon all paths.
The soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed.
The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals.

The most stiking lines from the poem of Kahlil Gibran  self knowledge is this satement " And the treasure of your infinite depths would be revealed to your eyes. But let there be no scales to weigh your unknown treasure." This means that you cannot hide anything because when you looked someones eyes you will know what the person is trying to say. We should not understamate the person's feeling because we don't know what he/she feels about something. Accoring to my classmate in the context of education he said, " It is not the teacher, the curriculum and the instructional materials but it is on the learner. Meaning to say we have our own self knowledge which is planted inside. According to John B. Watson our brain is like a blank sheet or the tabularasa concept but he added everything can be learn. As we grow our mental capabilities also develop and this is our treasure that we must be proud of. In our studies we used our instinc in cooperation of our mind and that help us to decide.
